Director of Content and Digital

General Summary/Overview Statement: Reporting to the Chief Communication Officer and Senior Vice President of Strategic Communication, the director of Content & Digital leads a team of professionals in the strategic development and day-to-day management of the hospital's marketing content and digital platforms.   Principal Duties and Responsibilities: The director oversees a team in a highly visible, fast-paced environment.  Work with content creators to strategically envision, write, edit, design and deploy content for diverse topics, audiences and vehicles across multiple digital, visual/video and print channels. The ability and commitment to leading innovative, cross-channel content ideation is critical to success.  The director is responsible for creative vision and ideation as well as thorough follow-through on development, execution, and measurement of marketing content and design Oversees a team of digital professionals who develop, evolve and maintain the hospital's website and intranet portal, and other digital properties to deliver news, messages, content and ideas to key target audiences in support of the communication and marketing goals of the Office of Strategic Communication and the strategic and business priorities of the enterprise. The director works in close partnership with the SVP, the director of News & Enterprise Communication and the VP of Marketing to optimize integration across the team and plan for the deployment of creative content that can be effectively targeted, using business intelligence and analytics, to defined audiences through multiple channels to achieve department goals and key institutional initiatives. The director develops, leads and executes content development and digital strategies- which are informed by analytics and other metrics that align with marketing and institutional goals - to advance the institution's overall marketing and brand strategy. Preference and prioritization will be given to those candidates who can tangibly demonstrate successful experience with acquisition marketing/lead generation content development/campaigns and who have related digital marketing technology experience. Special efforts include continually enhancing communication, driving innovation by adapting and evolving content that works for specific audiences and marketing endeavors. Co-leads, along with the director of News & Enterprise Communication, a team of video, multimedia and graphic design professionals. With support from the Executive Producer, Visual Services, oversees the development and creation of videos, photography and other multimedia and visual assets that support content marketing. The director of Content & Digital must be a strong leader who can provide creative and strategic thought leadership and direction to a content development and digital team responsible for a broad range of writing, creative and strategic communications for multiple audiences. These include, patients and prospective patients, families, visitors, clinical staff and researchers, external referring physicians, influencer audiences, and the general public. DigitalThe director leads a Senior Manager of Digital, a team of digital producers, web project managers and coordinators in the strategic development of digital and interactive media projects and the day to day management of the hospital's website and other digital properties. ContentThe director works closely with the vice president of Marketing and the Marketing strategists and managers, along with the News & Enterprise Comm team to strategically lead content development and creative design for different vehicles and channels, including blog posts, web content, social media, physician liaison materials, and other digital and print marketing materials as needed.Partners with the SVP and the OSC team on the development and creation of videos, photography and other multimedia assets, i.e., podcasts, webinars, infographics, lobby displays, that engage multiple audiences via multiple channels.Works with the OSC leadership on the development and utilization of an analytics program that relies on measurable outcomes to inform content development.Coordinates and evaluates, in conjunction with the SVP, vice president of Marketing and director of News & Enterprise Communication, short and long-term strategic goals and accomplishments for the Strategic Communication team.     Qualifications   REQUIREMENTS:  Minimum 10 years' experience in a team-centric strategic communication environment with proven leadership and management ability around a broad range of content development, design and deployment, including marketing communication, employee communication, web content, digital signage development, e-newsletter and publication production, social media, among other vehicles and channels. Fluency in digital marketing technology essential. Health care or science writing and communications experiencepreferred.  BA in communications or journalism with superior written, editorial, oral communication and computer skills required.   Skills, Abilities and Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong creative, conceptual and storytelling skills a must. Has sophisticated understanding of contemporary content marketing analytics and experienceworking with marketing leadership to assess content marketing ROI and optimize programs accordingly. Demonstrates capacity to communicate effectively with senior leadership, clinical and research staff across the organization and across Partners, with colleagues, peers and direct reports. Has exceptional interpersonal skills. Skilled in mentoring staff and teams in a very fast-paced environment.  Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff, work independently, be flexible, and to oversee and execute multiple projects simultaneously while also working effectively under the pressure of deadlines and evolving priorities. Has experience and ability in effectively communicating medical and scientific ideas in laypeople's terms. Takes initiative and functions effectively, both independently and as a member of a team, with a willingness to take on and assist with routine and last minute projects. Exceptional judgment and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential issues. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Strong, team-centric leadership and management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage staff, both one-on-one as well as in group settings. Excellent organizational skills, with close attention to detail. Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently, and to oversee and deploy team resources to execute multiple projects simultaneously while also working effectively under the pressure of deadlines and evolving priorities. Takes initiative and functions effectively, both independently and as a member of a team, with a willingness to take on and assist with routine and last minute projects.   Additional Responsibilities In collaboration with the SVP, manage regular leadership and management meetings. Regularly evaluate KPIs and other data to continuously improve the delivery of important information to key audiences Recruits, trains and mentors staff on the content & digital teams Identify and leverage opportunities for growth and development across the team. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
